Rapallo
The most metropolitan of our destinations, Rapallo is located in a tactical position in the Gulf of Tigullio, halfway between Portofino and Sestri Levante.
The most metropolitan of all our destinations, we always recommend a boat ride to Rapallo only as a brief stop on a longer boat excursion around the Gulf of Tigullio.
Visiting Rapallo from the sea, you may take pictures of the distinctive sixteenth-century Castle and the brand new seawalk; if you wanted to stretch your legs and take a break on your boat tour of the Tigullio, there's also the historic center.
Picked to sign two important peace treaties after the First World War, Rapallo rests in a tactical position in the Gulf of Tigullio, halfway between Portofino and Sestri Levante.
Its name originates from the term Ra palù (Swamp), which indeed used to be actually located at the mouth of the Boate stream and of the San Francesco further to the east. Practically devoid of beaches, it has a prospective walk that starts from the sixteenth-century castle, built amidst many local controversies after the town's girls and children were kidnapped by the Turkish Pirate Dragut on July 4, 1549.
Rapallo also has an old port, and a very modern Private Port called Porto Carlo Riva; inside, among the various services, there is also a petrol station for refueling boats.
